Austin Floral is a fresh botanical pattern that was inspired by a 19th century European set of transferware dishes, and it shares the antique's amazing naturalism. A flowing layout that travels across the plate takes its cues from Aesthetic Movement and early Modern china. Multiple motifs of fruiting branches are boldly scaled for a modern feeling: designs include, pears, cherries, peaches, plums, currants strawberries and blackberries, which are all dotted with butterflies and bees. Images vary from dish to dish, emphasizing a whimsical, one-of-a-kind look. Austin Floral is produced in a fine ironstone for a practical everyday use, and is both dishwasher and microwave safe. Color ways include indigo, a blue-on-ivory treatment in the same dark cobalt shade as the Marielle Indigo china; and Ivory, a subtle grey-beige-on-ivory version. Both looks are designed to work in combination with the Marielle family.
